Shabana Iqbal
Administrative Project Coordinator
I became a member of the network in 2021 when it was still a fairly new entity with a team of 2!
Drawing from my prior background in administration, I have in-depth knowledge across multiple departments in my former roles at Birmingham Children's Hospital. I aspire to contribute my experience and learned capabilities to elevate the performance of this position.
West Midlands Children's Network was unlike any establishments I was used to, however now I can’t imagine working in any other way, it exposed me to a new and more effective way of working.
It's nice to see the care and devotion the team has towards their networks as well as coming together through cross-networking collaborations and providing peer support to each other along the way.
I have felt to be a welcomed member of the team, I support the teams with their visions and goals of delivering regional standardised care for children and improving patient outcomes through shared professional engagement and reducing unwarranted variations with the end goal of ‘Getting it right first time’.
The network is ever-changing and adapting to challenges it faces, I look forward to seeing what’s to come and I am proud to be part of this collective.
