EAR, NOSE AND THROAT (ENT)

The ENT Working Group was established to support service improvements for children requiring an ear, nose, or throat surgical procedure.

The group reviews national standards and recommendations for these procedures, and helps to ensure that hospitals across the West Midlands are able to deliver them.

The network aims to ensure that services provided across the region are high quality, patient-focused, and continue to improve to meet the needs of our patients.

Clinicians and managers from hospitals across the West Midlands come together to discuss patient pathways and to agree on priority areas that they can work collaboratively on to improve the experience for children and their families.

Priorities

The priorities for all the clinical working groups are agreed by the SIC steering group members. The priorities include ensuring that regional practice aligns to national standards, identifying and attempting to address regional variation in practice, and collaboration to ensure continuous service development at both a local and regional level. Overarching priorities are set annually and are reviewed regularly at group meetings. The group will annually review its progress against their agreed priorities, and report back to the Surgery in Children Steering Group.
